Settler colonialism means a system of oppression based on genocide and colonialism, that aims to displace a population of a nation. This caused a lot of damage to the black people since a lot of them lost their jobs and was never clear now slavery became accepted the Europeans did attempt other forces of labor before turning to enslaved Africans .

The American Revolution
The people were treated so badly but still had to pay taxes. Freedom was being fought for white Americans not black Americans . The American revolution did provide some opportunities for enslaved people to get there freedom. 5000 to 8000 of black people were apart of the American army to help. Black people would show goodwill to convince enslavers that black people are Americans too |
Creating a New Country
The first government set up the continental congress was called the article of confederation and it was bad which is why it only lasted 10 years. The government developed rules for dealing with one of the most persistent problems facing a new nation which was Ohio. The biggest accomplishment of the articles was the northwest ordinance of 1787, which set up a process to create 5 new states. American Indians had a claim to the land that they had to be treated better if settlers wanted to avoid violence. |
